The Chicago Landmarks site includes capsules and photographs of dozens of architecturally and historically significant buildings around the city.  There are pages on the Southside sites and historic districts as well.
The Chicago Architecture Foundation is devoted to preserving and promoting Chicago’s architectural history and future.  They lead a tour of Hyde Park landmarks that is open to the public.  The Foundation provides opportunities for membership and advocacy as well.
Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House is open to the public.
